SJEC at the World Elevator & Escalator Expo 2024

SJEC exhibited at the 16th World Elevator & Escalator Expo in Shanghai from 8 to 11 May 2024, showing an AI-managed new-energy elevator, the LiftPre predictive maintenance system, and its home lift range.

The exhibition

The World Elevator & Escalator Expo is the industry's largest gathering. Its sixteenth edition ran from 8 to 11 May 2024 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, across roughly 110,000 square metres with about 1,100 exhibitors, and is organised under the China Elevator Association.

SJEC has been manufacturing since 1992 and is installed in more than 120 countries. Prawita Karya has been its sole agent in Indonesia since 2006, which is why what SJEC shows at this exhibition tends to reach Indonesian buildings a season or two later.

New-energy elevators

The stand was built around an elevator running on stored energy rather than continuous mains draw, with a solar panel mounted above the car. It is the same principle as the battery drive SJEC calls Cube, which reaches Indonesia in the Tenka V300: mains electricity charges the battery instead of lifting the car, so the lift keeps running through a power cut and can be charged off-peak.

LiftPre — maintenance by prediction

SJEC also showed LiftPre, a monitoring system that reports how equipment is behaving rather than waiting for it to stop. It is the direction the maintenance side of this industry has been moving for a decade: the failures that matter in vertical transport are progressive rather than sudden, so a system that measures drift is the difference between a planned adjustment and an emergency call-out.

Home lifts

The home lift range was shown in full-size glazed cabins. Those are the models Prawita Karya supplies in Indonesia under the Tenka badge, and the finishes on the stand are the ones a buyer here can specify.
