Inspection & Consultation

Inspection and consultation covers independent assessment of existing equipment and technical advice before purchase — condition survey, safety inspection, traffic analysis and equipment specification. Prawita Karya provides these for buildings across Indonesia.

Why inspection & consultation matters

The most valuable consultation happens before anything is bought. A traffic analysis establishes how many lifts a building actually needs, of what capacity and speed, based on its population, floor count and peak demand pattern — and it is far cheaper to change a drawing than a shaft.

For existing buildings the question is usually different: what condition is this equipment really in, and what should be budgeted. A condition survey answers that independently of any sales conversation, which matters when the alternative is a quote from whoever happens to be maintaining it.

Safety inspection is the third strand. Safety devices only matter in the moments they are needed, so periodic verification is the only way to know they will work — an inspection that finds nothing is still worth having.

Process

How it works

  1. Brief

Building type, population, floor count and the question to be answered established.

  2. Survey or analysis

Equipment inspected on site, or traffic modelled for a building still in design.

  3. Findings

Condition, compliance gaps or specification requirements set out in writing.

  4. Recommendations

Options and priorities identified, with budget implications flagged.

Scope

What this covers

  • Traffic analysis for buildings in design
  • Equipment specification and tender support
  • Condition survey of existing installations
  • Safety device inspection and verification
  • Compliance assessment
  • Written findings and recommendations

FAQ

Common questions

What is elevator traffic analysis?

A calculation of how many lifts a building needs, at what capacity and speed, based on its population, number of floors and peak demand pattern. It is the difference between a building that moves people comfortably at peak and one where queues form in the lobby every morning.

When should traffic analysis be carried out?

During design, while the number and size of shafts can still change. Once the core is built, the analysis can only tell you what you already have.

Can you inspect equipment installed by another company?

Yes. Condition surveys and safety inspections are carried out on equipment of any brand and any original installer.
