Maintenance

Elevator maintenance is scheduled inspection, adjustment and replacement of wearing components, combined with corrective repair when a fault occurs. Prawita Karya maintains elevators, escalators and home lifts across Indonesia, on equipment of any brand, with a 24/7 emergency hotline.

Why maintenance matters

Vertical transport is one of the few building systems where deferred maintenance carries a safety consequence rather than only a cost one. Ropes, brakes, door operators and safety gear wear through normal use, and wear is progressive: the interval between a component being slightly out of adjustment and being a fault is long, which is exactly why scheduled inspection catches it.

The commercial argument is simpler. An elevator out of service in a hotel, hospital or office tower disrupts the whole building, and emergency repairs cost more than planned ones — in parts availability as much as labour.

Prawita Karya maintains equipment regardless of the original manufacturer. Buildings frequently inherit a mixed estate from earlier contractors, and a single maintenance provider across all of it removes the gaps where responsibility gets lost.

Process

How it works

  1. Assessment

Existing equipment surveyed, condition recorded and the maintenance scope agreed.

  2. Scheduled visits

Planned inspection, cleaning, lubrication and adjustment on a defined interval.

  3. Safety verification

Brakes, safety gear, door protection and emergency communication tested.

  4. Corrective repair

Faults rectified, with parts sourced against the equipment in place.

  5. Emergency response

24/7 hotline for entrapments and equipment out of service.

FAQ

Common questions

How often should an elevator be maintained?

On a regular planned interval rather than on demand. The correct frequency depends on usage intensity, equipment type, age and environment — a hospital bed lift running continuously needs more attention than a low-rise office lift. The interval should be set against the manufacturer's schedule and applicable Indonesian regulations.

Do you provide elevator maintenance contracts?

Yes. Prawita Karya provides maintenance programmes covering planned preventive visits, safety inspection, corrective repair and emergency response.

Do you service elevators from other manufacturers?

Yes. Maintenance and spare parts are provided for all brands, which matters for buildings that have inherited equipment from several earlier contractors.

What happens if someone is trapped in a lift?

Call the 24/7 emergency hotline. Passengers are safe inside the car and should wait for trained personnel; the doors must only be opened by someone competent to do so, because a car stopped between floors presents a fall risk if released incorrectly.
