Project scope
Halim is the Jakarta terminus of the Jakarta–Bandung high-speed line, the first high-speed railway in Southeast Asia, which entered service under the name Whoosh in October 2023. It stands in Makasar, East Jakarta, beside the LRT station Prawita Karya also worked on. Prawita Karya supplied and installed the station's vertical transport under contract to KCIC, the Indonesia–China joint venture that operates the line: thirteen SJEC escalators and eight SJEC elevators. The line runs from Halim to Tegalluar outside Bandung, calling at Karawang and Padalarang, and cuts a trip that takes three to four hours by conventional train to well under an hour. Prawita Karya's work on the route did not stop at Halim: the company also equipped KCIC Karawang Station, and the LRT interchange built alongside the Halim terminus.
Challenge
Halim sits among existing buildings and elevated highways, and road access to the site was limited. Moving equipment in had to be coordinated with local authorities while the station held to the programme of a national infrastructure project.
Solution
Night working became the norm, and the team developed new lifting methods to get materials onto the site within the access it had.
Result
Handed over and in service. The station carries heavy passenger volumes daily, which Prawita Karya treats as the real measure of the installation — both of the work and of how the equipment stands up to sustained use.
