Mahata Tanjung Barat

Project scope

Samesta Mahata Tanjung Barat is a transit-oriented residential development in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, built by Perumnas with Kereta Api Indonesia and integrated directly with Tanjung Barat commuter rail station. Prawita Karya installed fifteen SJEC elevators and seven escalators serving thirty-two floors, at rated speeds up to 1.75 m/s. A transit-oriented block carries two kinds of traffic — residents going home, and passengers moving between the station and the street — which is why escalators appear in a residential building at all. The scheme runs to 1,216 apartments on a site of about 15,244 m², in studio, one- and two-bedroom units of roughly 21 to 46 m². Perumnas describes it as the first residential development of its kind in Indonesia to be built directly onto a commuter station.
