Working in Solo
Solo is the one city with a showroom. A Tenka Tsuki home lift is installed and running at Solo Design Hub in Surakarta, which matters because a home lift is bought on things a brochure cannot settle: how much floor the car actually takes, how it sounds in a quiet house, whether the finishes suit the room it will stand in.
The installed work here is weighted toward retail. Solo Paragon took six elevators, six escalators and six travelators across 2010 and 2011, and Ramayana Solo–Robinson fourteen escalators in 2014 and 2015. Escalators in a department store run continuously through trading hours, so their maintenance is scheduled around the shop rather than the other way round.
Technicians are based in the city rather than dispatched from Jakarta, which matters more as an installed base ages. The Solo work spans fifteen years — Solo Paragon from 2010, a lift at MB Eatery in 2025 — and the older a group of equipment gets, the more the question shifts from installing well to keeping parts available and response times short.
